Why We Extract Cold

There is a version of this work that looks good on a highlight reel: gun runs, hot LZs, a dropship taking fire on the way out. We are not building that unit. A recovery that ends in a firefight is a recovery that was already compromised somewhere upstream — in the approach, in the timing, in the intelligence.

Cold over loud

Extracting cold means the opposition never gets a vote. We arrive dark, we move on information gathered before the first boot touches dirt, and we are gone before the sensor picture clears. Patience is a weapon. So is restraint.

• Plan the egress before the insertion
• Move on intelligence, not on contact
• Hold the signature — every emission is a tell
• Win by not being there when it goes loud

None of this means we go in defenceless. It means the guns are there to buy a margin if the plan slips — not to be the plan. The day we rely on them is the day we did the harder, quieter work badly.

The operations worth running are the ones the enemy never realizes took place.
